About Claudia

Claudia Montanez is a psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and an approved Medicare provider. She has worked in a diversity of environments ranging from private practice to hospitals and the public sector. She has led multidisciplinary teams in the implementation of public policies for women and the LGBT+ population.

Claudia has developed and delivered mental health promotion and prevention programs, workshops and campaigns applying the gender and human rights perspective.

Claudia has substantial knowledge and experience working with children, adolescents, adults and elderly people. She provides high-quality treatment addressing issues related to anger, depression, anxiety, sexual orientation, gender identity, stress, alcohol and drug use, personality disorder, mood disorders, grief and loss, parenthood and relationship difficulties.

Claudia enjoys having the opportunity to delve into people’s lives and collaborate with each one of her clients to see different perspectives and find creative solutions to their issues.  She incorporates multiple therapeutic frameworks in her practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
