Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (Terms and Conditions) regulate the relationship between you, a user of our services or our websites www.bcpsyc.com.au and www.brisbanecitypsychologist.com.au (BCP Websites) and Bcpsyc Pty Ltd ATF Brisbane City Psychologists Services Trust ABN 79 409 261 282 trading as Brisbane City Psychologists (‘BCP’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’).

These Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Collection StatementPrivacy Policy and Website Terms of Use (together, referred to as Terms and Conditions) apply to you as a visitor to the BCP Websites and user of our services. BCP will collect and handle any information submitted to BCP following our Privacy Policy.

Brisbane City Psychologists operates as a service platform and administrative provider to independent psychological practitioners. We provide:

  • Marketing and administrative services to psychologists
  • Shared premises and facilities
  • Booking and appointment coordination services
  • Payment processing services as agent for individual psychologists
  • General facility management

Important: Each psychologist operating through our platform is an independent practitioner who:

  • Maintains their own professional registration and insurance
  • Sets their own fees, policies, and treatment approaches
  • Has their own terms of engagement, consent forms, and cancellation policies
  • Is solely responsible for the psychological services they provide
  • Maintains the primary therapeutic relationship and duty of care to clients

Your Relationship with Psychologists

When you engage a psychologist through our platform, you will be entering into a separate therapeutic relationship directly with that individual practitioner. You will be required to agree to that psychologist’s specific terms of engagement, which govern the therapeutic relationship.

BCP’s Responsibilities

Our duty of care is limited to:

  • Maintaining safe premises and facilities
  • Providing accurate booking and administrative services
  • Processing payments securely as agent for psychologists
  • Ensuring our platform connects you with appropriately qualified practitioners
  • Managing premises safety and conduct issues

Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information during booking and treatment
  • Following individual psychologist’s terms of engagement
  • Adhering to premises rules and conduct requirements
  • Arranging appropriate crisis support when needed outside of scheduled appointments

Emergency Crisis and Support

We are not an emergency or crisis response service and your psychologist may not be contactable outside their regular work hours at our premises. In case of emergency:

  • Immediate danger: Contact emergency services at 000
  • Crisis support: Refer to the Crisis and Emergencies page on our website for 24/7 crisis support services
  • Urgent medical care: Present to your nearest hospital emergency department or General Practitioner (GP)

Visting Our Premises

Our premises operate on an appointment-only basis. We do not accept walk-in clients. All visits must be pre-arranged through our booking system.

To visit our premises, you must:

  • Not attend if experiencing any contagious illness symptoms
  • Follow all health and safety directions from our staff
  • Use contactless payment methods
  • Maintain appropriate hygiene standards

Conduct Standards

We maintain a safe and professional environment. You agree to treat all staff, psychologists, and other clients with respect, refrain from aggressive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour, follow all premises rules and staff directions, and respect the privacy and confidentiality of other clients.

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to immediately terminate access to our premises for safety breaches or inappropriate conduct, refuse future bookings for clients who violate conduct standards, remove individuals who pose a risk to staff, psychologists, or other clients, and report serious misconduct to appropriate authorities.

Payment Processing

BCP acts as a payment processing agent only for individual psychologists. We collect payments on behalf of individual psychologists, transfer funds directly to the psychologist’s nominated bank account, do not hold or retain client funds, and provide transaction records and receipts.

Fees and Billing

Each psychologist sets their own fees and billing arrangements. Payment terms are determined by the individual psychologist. BCP is not responsible for fee disputes between clients and psychologists, and refund policies are determined by individual psychologists.

Booking Process

All bookings are made through our platform for convenience. Each psychologist maintains their own availability and booking preferences, and confirmation of appointments is subject to psychologist availability.

Cancellation Policies

Individual psychologists set their own cancellation and no-show policies. These policies will be communicated to you during the booking process. BCP may charge administrative fees for booking system usage as disclosed.

Privacy and Confidentiality

BCP collects and handles information according to our Privacy Policy. Clinical information and therapeutic communications are handled directly by individual psychologists. We maintain confidentiality of all client information within legal requirements.

Administrative information may be shared between BCP and your psychologist for service delivery. Clinical information sharing is governed by your individual psychologist’s privacy practices. We comply with all mandatory reporting requirements under applicable law.

Service Disclaimers

BCP provides administrative and platform services only. We do not provide psychological or mental health treatment services, are not responsible for clinical outcomes or treatment effectiveness, do not supervise or direct individual psychologists’ clinical practices, and make no warranties about treatment results or therapeutic outcomes.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BCP’s liability is limited to administrative service failures. We exclude liability for psychological treatment outcomes. Individual psychologists maintain their own professional indemnity insurance, and our total liability is limited to the administrative fees charged.

Website and System Use

Our booking platform is provided “as is” without warranties. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue platform features. System maintenance may occasionally affect availability, and you are responsible for maintaining device security and internet connectivity.

Telehealth Sessions

If you feel safer or if it is more convenient for you to receive telehealth services at any time, please let your psychologist or our administration team know. In addition, if you wish to claim rebates for telehealth sessions, please ask your psychologist or our administration team before booking a telehealth appointment.

Consent

By using our services, the BCP Websites or our premises you agree to our Terms and Conditions. BCP’s Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of material changes via email (if you have provided an email address) or prominent notice on our website. Meanings

References to “Brisbane City Psychologists”, “BCP”, “we”, “us”, and “our” are references to Bcpsyc Pty Ltd ATF Brisbane City Psychologists Services Trust ABN 79 409 261 282 (trading as Brisbane City Psychologists). References to “you” and “your” are references to any individual using our services or our websites www.brisbanecitypsychologist.com.au or www.bcpsyc.com.au (BCP Websites).
