Celebrating 25 years!
My passion is working with adults of all ages and I invite and welcome clients from all cultural backgrounds to join me in realising life’s full potential, assisting people with strategies to move forward towards a more fulfilling life.
I use evidence-based approaches in my practice, drawing from traditional and contemporary Evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based therapies.
My client-directed outcome-focused therapy (CDOF) style involves tailoring treatment to the client’s individual goals, emphasising a strong therapeutic alliance, and using the client’s personal experience to guide the process.
I favour user-friendly concepts, interpreting clinical concepts and terminology into a more easily understood language and applying them to life experiences.
All men’s health: supporting men with fatherhood (the role of a lifetime), support with the challenges and triumphs of family life, marriage maintenance, understanding the key components of a strong relationship/marriage, knowing when to quit and when to persist, loss of self in relationships, feelings of disconnection and rejection in the relationship, feelings of being exploited and taken advantage of, toxic partnerships, social and emotional competency, communication strategies, resilience routines.
Behaviour addictions: including support with addictive behaviour concerning online platforms and content, food and beverages, romance, gambling, work, exercise and other addictions.
Mood-related disorders: including supporting clients with long-term or situational depression, or depression related to grief and loss, and prolonged exposure to high stress and mood-related sleep issues.
Anxiety-related disorders: including supporting clients with anxiety related to stressful situations or work roles, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, excessive worry and rumination, including anxiety-related sleep issues.
Difficult life transitions and adjustment disorders: including supporting clients in their 20s or quarter-life crises, with career uncertainty, relationship instability, accommodation issues, and financial independence challenges; clients in their 30s with questions of marriage and kids or more career study or travel; clients in their midlife 40s-50s with managing physical and emotional shifts; empty nesters and caring for elderly parents. Transitions can be planned and unplanned and pose challenges either way, like a medical emergency or onset of a chronic illness, relationship breakups, job loss, loss of a loved one, bereavement or starting again after natural disasters.
Relationship issues: including supporting clients with family of origin issues, traumatic childhoods, troubled sibling relationships or with parents and other family members, romantic relationships, affairs, workplace relationships or issues with partner choices and relationship abuse.
Building self-esteem and self-confidence: including supporting clients with managing the inner critic, exercising self-compassion and developing a more supportive and realistic perspective after failures or negative experiences, past and present.
Student support: providing support and strategies for students to cope with academic pressures, mental health awareness and resilience through lifestyle and cognitive approaches, understanding causes and the perils of perfectionism, procrastination and fear of failure, preventing burnout, stress, anxiety and depression.
“I have a passion for assisting people with insights into self-defeating behaviours and strategies to move forward towards a more fulfilling life”.
