Laura MacCombie is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is an approved Medicare provider.
Laura has a special interest in working with clients with a background of childhood trauma and domestic violence relationships, in particular, recovery from narcissistic abuse.
Laura’s style is warm and empathetic, allowing her clients to immediately feel comfortable and at ease opening up in session. She creates a supportive environment, facilitates collaborative goal setting, and develops personalised treatment plans based on her clients’ individual needs.
Laura is experienced in working in private practice and in a university setting. Laura ran her own group private practice for a number of years including having several practice locations around the Sydney area and on campus at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
Laura has substantial experience working with adults and university students with presentations such as generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, relationship difficulties, and student-related difficulties such as procrastination and perfectionism.
Laura uses a range of evidence-based therapies as listed below; however, she particularly enjoys using schema therapy, hypnotherapy, and neurolinguistic programming (NLP).
