My name is Rachael Vishram, and I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of clinical experience working with adults in private and multidisciplinary health settings. My therapeutic style is one of compassion and warmth to authentically connect with you and help you feel comfortable in session to work towards achieving meaningful and sustainable change.
I use an evidence-based approach that is holistic, trauma-informed, and underpinned in positive psychology to help with a range of concerns and general psychological issues that you may be experiencing. These include depression and low mood, anxiety, stress and burnout, life transition adjustment difficulties, alcohol use, interpersonal issues, trauma, low self-esteem and traits including perfectionism. To do this, I integrate several evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, including Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Mi-CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Schema Therapy.
My background and particular interest area lie in the assessment and treatment of adults with Eating Disorders. I have worked in a multidisciplinary health setting for many years to help individuals change their health behaviours.
I can help with all types of disordered eating, emotional eating, and health behaviour improvement. I approach all eating issues through a person-centred, non-diet, weight-neutral and Health at Every Size® (HAES) approach. I primarily use strategies under the CBT-E, a cutting-edge development in CBT treatment especially designed for eating problems and disorders, and intuitive eating frameworks to result in a more relaxed and healthy relationship with eating, food, movement and your body.
I am a Credentialed Eating Disorder Mental Health Clinician with the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED). This means I am regularly required to do extra Professional Development and Supervision specific to this field to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based research and effectively assess and treat Eating Disorders.
