About Katarina

I am a Registered Psychologist with over 16 years of experience providing therapeutic support to individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds.

I have a particular interest and vast experience in helping clients with stress management, burnout prevention, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.

With a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic style, I create a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes. I aim to help clients gain self-awareness, build emotional resilience, and develop practical strategies for lasting wellbeing. Whether navigating personal struggles or relational challenges, I focus on fostering growth, connection, and sustainable change.

I am passionate about creating psychoeducational self-help tools, including interactive card decks and books, to offer additional support outside the therapy room.

Executive Coaching, Burnout Prevention & Recovery

I provide Counselling for Executives and Leaders, offering support in wellbeing, stress management, and burnout prevention to help them maintain high performance while safeguarding their mental and physical health.

While working in The Hague, Netherlands, I collaborated with professionals from Sony, the UN, the International Social Studies Institute, and the International Criminal Court, gaining valuable experience in culturally sensitive therapy and the complexities of global leadership challenges. I have also presented at TEDx University of The Hague (2018) and the Women’s Economic Forum in Birmingham, UK (2019).

Holding a Doctorate in Business Administration, my research focused on an Enhanced Burnout Reduction Model, which provides a structured approach to building long-term resilience. My qualifications in psychology complement this, offering insights into the mind-body connection and the impact of workplace stress on overall wellbeing.

My approach empowers executives to prevent burnout, enhance resilience, and sustain success in demanding environments through evidence-based psychological techniques.

My passion for couples therapy guides partners toward healthier communication, deeper emotional connections, and improved intimacy. I am a Gottman Certified Couples Therapist, a Gottman Relationship Checkup Approved Member

I am a Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist, credentialed by the Gottman Institute. This certification signifies my expertise in using Gottman Method Therapy to help couples navigate challenges, strengthen their emotional connection, and build lasting, healthy relationships. I have completed extensive training in assessment, intervention, and evidence-based techniques to improve relationship dynamics.

I am a Gottman Relationship Checkup Approved Member, recognised by the Gottman Institute for my training in using the Gottman Relationship Checkup—a research-based assessment tool designed to evaluate relationship strengths and challenges. This credential allows me to provide couples with a comprehensive analysis of their relationship dynamics, using evidence-based insights to guide tailored interventions. By integrating the findings from the assessment, I help couples strengthen their connection, improve communication, and address areas of concern with strategies rooted in Gottman Method Therapy.

I am a credentialed Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work Leader, certified by the Gottman Institute to guide couples using Dr. John Gottman’s research-based relationship approach. Through this training, I have developed expertise in teaching and applying the principles outlined in The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, equipping couples with practical tools to enhance their relationship. As a certified workshop leader, I provide structured guidance to help couples strengthen their bond through evidence-based strategies.

New Beginnings: I recently emigrated to Brisbane from the Netherlands, and I’m excited to build a new life here!

Globetrotter: I have traveled and worked across multiple countries, which has given me a deep appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
I love reading and writing: I’ve authored a few books and articles. My newest one focused on burnout prevention.

Rebates and other funding may be available depending on your eligibility.

Medicare Gap Fee: The difference between the psychologist’s session fee and the Medicare rebate.
Medicare Rebates: $101.55 per 50+ minute session with a valid doctor’s referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). You can secure your first appointment without a referral, but you must have one at the appointment to be eligible for the rebate. More about Medicare rebates >
