About Tynneille

I work with clients aged 15 and above experiencing a range of psychological, emotional and interpersonal difficulties. I aim to provide a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood, while we work collaboratively towards meaningful and practical change.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, curious and collaborative. People come to therapy with different experiences, strengths and needs, and I tailor treatment accordingly. This may involve developing a greater understanding of longstanding patterns, learning practical strategies to manage current difficulties, processing challenging experiences, or working towards changes that support a more fulfilling life.

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

Couples therapy

I am trained in the Gottman Method and work therapeutically with couples, drawing on this research-based approach to help partners build understanding, strengthen communication and navigate relationship challenges together.

Couples work follows a structured four-session format:

  • First session: both partners attend together
  • Second session: an individual session with one of the partners
  • Third session: an individual session with the other partner
  • Fourth session: the couple returns together for feedback and to agree on a therapy plan going forward.

Research

Alongside my clinical practice, I am completing a PhD at the QUT School of Psychology and Counselling. My research examines how our emotional state influences the way we recognise and respond to facial expressions, and complements my clinical interest in the ways emotion, cognition and interpersonal experience shape how we understand ourselves and others.

“I aim to provide a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where clients feel genuinely heard, while we work collaboratively towards meaningful, practical change.”

Meet Tynneille

  • I’m a mum of three boys, so I understand first-hand that life can be busy, messy and demanding, and that finding time for yourself isn’t always easy.

  • I love skiing and will happily take any opportunity to get to the snow.

  • Outside of psychology, I enjoy being active, travelling, reading and spending time outdoors, particularly anywhere surrounded by nature.

  • Time with family and friends is important to me, and I value humour, connection and finding enjoyment amongst the busyness of everyday life.
